Canadian Ski Marathon

BXCSC is proud to congratulate 8 members on their participation in the Canadian Ski Marathon in Montabello, Quebec.

The CSM is both North America’s oldest and its longest cross country ski event. Unlike most marathons the CSM is not a race. Instead each skier challenges themselves at their own level of ability. The two day event is divided into 5 sections each day. The goal is for each skier to work their way up to Coureur des Bois gold, covering the entire 100 miles in two days, and sleeping outdoors overnight. Multiple BXCSC skiers have reached gold status in the past, and plan to do so again in the future, with the aspiration of earning their “permanent bib” when they have completed the gold 5 times.
