Bedford Cross-Country Ski Club

About Us

Patchy snow on the fields.  Trails not groomed in a while but it looks like Mother Nature has another batch of snow coming Friday night.  We’ll see what we can do on Saturday!

Saturday January 21st we hosted the Souhegan Sprints nordic ski race at Legacy.

The race is on!!

As always the Benedictine Park , Joppa Hill Farm , Pulpit Rock all in Bedford, and Joe English Reservation in Amherst are all great winter trail alternatives for snow shoeing and walking your dog.

We managed to pull off a successful high school race today (1-5-2017).  We worked hard to move snow and groom the trails and had over 100 students participate.  A great cry out to the public who frequent the trails but kindly stayed off of them for the past few days while the rain fell and the temperatures rose.

The Bedford Cross-Country Ski Club was created in 1996 by an enthusiastic group of local nordic skiers wanting to establish a ski club for those with a shared passion for cross-country skiing in southern New Hampshire.  Since then, our club has grown significantly and today provides ski instruction, equipment, a warming hut for skiers during the ski season and trails for local skiing right in town at Legacy Park.

The Legacy Park 5km Nordic Ski Trail System is maintained and groomed by Bedford Cross-Country Ski Club volunteers.  Over 100 area high school and middle school Nordic racers practice on the trails, as well as host local races.  Every Sunday the Club runs its  “Bill Koch League” which introduces children to cross-country skiing in a fun and supportive environment.  Depending on age and ability, a variety of coached groups for novice and competitive skiers up to 8th grade are run by Club volunteer coaches.

Legacy Park is open to the skiing public as well.
